【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversstructuralclayloading-bearingwalltile.Twogradesoftilearecovered,asfollows:1.1.1GradeLBX8212;Suitableforgeneraluseinmasonryconstructionandadaptedforuseinmasonryexposedtoweathering,providedtheymeetthedurabilityrequirementsforGradeSWofSpecificationC216.1.1.2GradeLB8212;Suitableforgeneraluseinmasonrywherenotexposedtofrostaction,orforuseinexposedmasonrywhereprotectedwithafacingof3in.(76.2mm)ormoreofstone,brick,terracotta,orothermasonry.1.1.3Iftilehavingaparticularcolor,texture,orfinisharedesired,thesefeaturesshallbespecifiedseparatelybythepurchaser.Note18212;Coloroftilevarieswiththetypeofclayusedanddegreeofburning;hence,itcannotbetakenasindicativeofclassificationuntilafterithasbeenrelatedtoabsorptionandstrengthbyactualtests.1.2Thepropertyrequirementsofthisspecificationapplyatthetimeofpurchase.Theuseofresultsfromtestingoftileextractedfrommasonrystructuresfordeterminingconformanceornon-conformancetothepropertyrequirements(Section3)ofthisstandardisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.3Tilecoveredbythisspecificationaremanufacturedfromclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringsubstancesandsubjectedtoaheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentmustdevelopsufficientfiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementsofthisspecification.(SeefiringandfiredbondinTerminologyC1232.)1.4Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.
